Learn why willpower alone cannot free you from repeating sin cycles and discover the biblical framework that leads to lasting victory through God’s power.
Hi Chris, Love the post. You did something I'm thinking wasn't intentional. You drew a line in the sand pertaining to what the world, and unfortunately now, the church call "addiction". A continuous sin cycle is exactly that. Not addiction. Not mental illness. SIN. Unrepented sin has calamitous effects on us individually and societally. Repentance literally means turn 180 degrees. Away from sin. Back to God. I agree that we are a work in progress and that it can take time to break cycles. One of the biggest inhibitors of breaking bad habits is the enablement of the offender by well-meaning people that do not understand the root of the problem. I think most times it is done out of ignorance or as a way of passing the buck. I am in no way implying that you fall into that category. Quite the opposite my brother. The addiction treatment community is slated to make trillions of dollars in the near future so is extremely hard to fight against. Satan has woven this into the church masterfully and it has become deeply entrenched. Just about every 12-step meeting all across America and the rest of the world is held in a church. Coincidence? I think not. “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” — Matthew 7:15 (KJV)
These are of course my opinions and observations. They come from someone who spent countless years as a prodigal. I spent the vast majority of my adult years as what the Bible calls a drunkard. I am on the path home now, Praise you Father, I am well versed in the "addiction" theology. It is in my opinion designed to keep individuals in a constant state of use, relapse, rehab, repeat. Again, we are dealing with a trillion+ dollar industry and now pharmaceutical companies are in the process of releasing the next addiction wonder drug. Until we call sin what it is again, we will lose this war. Trust me it's a war. I have lived it. Thanks again for the post and have a blessed day my Brother.
The point I think is really important is remembering your identity. This address the problem from two perspectives. The first is from God's perspective. We know he does not call us by our "sin cycle " names. The second is when we see ourselves as God created us, we can strengthen our own souls from the words He has spoken to us.
Beautiful 😎🙏🙏🙏💕
Such an important message!
Excellent!
Amen!!
Wow Thank you Pastor for calling it what it is SIN & to repent & to replace it. Very inspiring 🙌

Happy that you are on the right path Todd “ God’s Words are a lamp unto our feet & light unto our Path”.
